Dr. Wei-Hsiang Chen holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Davis, completed in 2009. He earned his M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004 and his B.S. in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Tamkang University in Taiwan in 2000.

Dr. Wei-Hsiang Chen is a distinguished professor in the Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where he has served since 2021. He currently holds the positions of Chair of the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, roles he has held since 2023. Dr. Chen is also the Associate Director of the Aerosol Science Research Center at NSYSU, a position he has occupied since 2017, and the Director of The Chinese Institute of Environmental Engineering since 2022. He has been jointly appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health and the Doctor and Master Degree Program in Toxicology at Kaohsiung Medical University since 2019.
