Prof. Xiaogang Wei is a distinguished scholar and accomplished researcher in the field of civil and environmental engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and currently serves as an Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor. He has also served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of the Highlands and Islands in the United Kingdom. Prof. Wei is widely recognized for his academic excellence and professional dedication, having been honored as a Young Backbone Teacher in Higher Education of Henan Province, an Excellent Communist Party Member in Henan Provincial Universities, a Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentor in Zhengzhou, and an Outstanding Expert in Whole-Process Engineering Consulting of Henan Province. His primary research interests encompass disaster prevention and mitigation of engineering structures, safety assessment, as well as construction economics and management.At present, Prof. Wei serves as the Vice Dean of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. In addition to his academic leadership, he also holds the position of Vice President of the Youth Academic Branch of the Henan Civil and Architectural Society. He contributes extensively to various professional and governmental committees, including roles as a review expert for the Academic Degrees Center of the Ministry of Education and a thesis review expert for Henan Province. Furthermore, he is a member of the Henan Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, an expert in the housing and urban-rural development sector of Henan Province, and a recognized member of several expert databases such as the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Expert Database, the Henan Provincial Department of Finance Expert Database, and the Zhengzhou Major and Hazardous Projects Expert Database.
