Assist. Prof. Dr. Silvia Pisani | Medicina Rigenerativa | Best Researcher Award

University of Pavia | Italy

Assist. Prof. Dr. Silvia Pisani is a distinguished researcher in Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering, whose impactful work is demonstrated by an h-index of 19, 49 publications, and over 2,043 citations. Building upon her Master’s in Pharmacy (110/110 cum laude) and PhD from the University of Pavia, her current post-doctoral research at IRCCS Policlinico S. Matteo focuses on pioneering 3D-printed and electrospun scaffolds for esophageal and neural tube defect repair. Her expertise spans the synthesis and physico-chemical characterization of smart biomaterials, including shape-memory polymers, and their cellularization with mesenchymal stem cells. Dr. Pisani’s research has been honed through prestigious international fellowships at Harvard University, Trinity College Dublin, and the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas. An award-winning scientist, notably receiving the CRS-Italy Best PhD Thesis Prize, she is also a dedicated educator, lecturing in international courses and actively contributing to scientific societies like the Controlled Release Society. Beyond the laboratory, she demonstrates a strong commitment to community service through leadership roles in Rotaract and volunteer work as a pharmacy manager for CISOM.
