Cleyson Santos de Paiva, Ph.D., has a robust educational background in engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomaterials Engineering from Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA), Lavras, Brazil, between 2021 and 2024. His doctoral research focused on the valorization of liana (Heteropsis flexuosa) and andiroba oil (Carapa guianensis) for producing functionalized cellulosic films, under the guidance of advisor Marali Vilela Dias and co-supervisor Fabiana da Silva Feliz. Prior to this, he completed an MSc in Materials Science and Technology at Centro Universitário da Zona Oeste (UEZO) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 2014 to 2016, where he studied the mechanical behavior of degraded polycarbonate at different temperatures, supervised by Carlos Alberto Martins Ferreira and co-supervised by Alisson Clay Rios da Silva. Additionally, he holds specializations in Occupational Safety Engineering from Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul (UNICSUL), São Paulo (2020-2021), and in Industrial Maintenance Engineering from Universidade Norte do Paraná (UNOPAR), Londrina (2021). His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s Degree in Production Engineering from Amapá State University (UEAP), Macapá, Brazil (2007-2011), where he researched the flexural strength of composites processed from waste materials such as PET bottles, kaolin processing residue, and biomass, under the mentorship of Felipe Fernando da Costa Tavares.
