His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India, where he delved into various aspects of chemistry, including organic and inorganic chemistry, organic synthesis, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, coordination chemistry, quantum mechanics, and spectroscopy.
